This trip is a perfect outdoor day of land exploration, discovery,
nature & snorkeling in our refreshing blue water. Our trip also features
spectacular photo opportunities! We have run trips to West Caicos
for over 20 years. We are your perfect host! On this trip: you will:
- Cruise Caicos Bank and find dolphins, sea rays, turtles & at
times whales
- Cruise along beautiful beaches on crystal clear waters
- Discover and visit a ghost town of “Yankee Town “; an old plantation
- Cross the island along the railway that was used during plantation
time
- Explore Lake Catherine, swim in light blue water, snorkel around
small blue holes & reefs
- See groups of flamingos and other tropical birds
- Explore our dry forest and discover our nature, plants, trees
and vegetation
- Explore the interesting seashore of the west of the island
- Discover spectacular ancient stone carvings from shipwreck and
maroon crews on the islands during pirate time and maybe do some
cliff diving
- Snorkel and discover our beautiful underwater life
- Snorkel or swim in a very interesting small cove and sea cave

Cay: A Snorkeling Paradise
History
French Cay is located in the Caicos Bank, straight south from
Provo and southeast of West Caicos, all alone in the middle of the
blue. In the 17th century the island served as a hideout for a brigand
of the sea, Nau L'Ollonois, who ambushed and captured passing sailing
vessels. At that time the island was named Cay Blondel. Blondel
was a marine engineer in Haiti who had been commissioned by the
French to study the possibility of building a lighthouse on this
small island. Their project never got off the ground. Today, French
Cay is a peaceful sanctuary for migrating birds. Also found here
are some spectacular reefs and fish life.
Points of Interest During the Year
- “Humpback Whales”
You will have the chance to see these beautiful creatures during
January to March as they migrate in the Silver Bank just 120 Miles
South of the Island of French Cay.
- Dolphins
We normally see Dolphins during our boat ride out or on our way
back.
- Other Site Seeing
During the cross over to the Islands you will be cruising on the
very shallow Caicos Bank which is about 10 to 12 ft deep. On a
nice calm day, we will be able to observe large rays and other
big fish. Come and enjoy a great day of fantastic snorkeling in
the clear turquoise waters of a remote island. French Cay is located
about 18 Miles away from our marina and our boat will take you
in full comfort as you will be crossing Caicos Bank going South.
The island is completely virgin, uninhabited and with no construction
at all. It is a bird sanctuary with a lot of different bird species
and also a refuge for rock iguanas. The Island offer spectacular
virgin beaches and the best snorkeling in the Turks & Caicos Islands.
You will be swimming between large Elkhorn coral, large sea Fan,
and will experience beautiful fish activity.
